VERY USEFUL!! THERE ARE 3 MAIN ZOOM RELATED SPECIAL FUNCTION COMMANDS: 0 - sets L/R locators to selected region/s ctl/alt/z - zoom to fit selected region/s to screen width cmd/alt/z - zoom to fit locators (L/R) to screen width ctl/alt/z - (zoom to fit selected region/s to screen width) IS ALREADY ASSIGNED AS A DEFAULT - NOW CREATE THE 2 EXTRAS!: ---------------- A. zoom to fit the L/R locators 1. open key commands - search (top right search box) for 'zoom' 2. look BELOW the command: ctl/alt/z (zoom to fit selection) FIND: "zoom to fit locators" - highlight - click "learn by key label" press: cmd/alt/z now cmd/alt/z will zoom the arrange-page to fit the L/R locators ---------------- B. set locators by regions/events 1. open key commands - search (top right search box) for 'locators' FIND: "set locators by regions/events" - highlight - click "learn by key label" press: ZERO key (above 'o' & 'p') - this '0' (ZERO) key is free. Now the '0' (zero) key will set the L/R cycle locators to the selected region/s ---------------- RETURNING TO ZOOM-OUT VIEW THE EASY WAY KEY-COMMANDS After zooming using any above 'zoom to fit' key commands, you then have to manualy zoom back out to see a bigger view of the arrangement which is a chore. Use these custom commands to easily zoom back out: open key commands - search (top right search box) for 'zoom' Find the items: "recall zoom 1", "recall zoom 2", "recall zoom 3" + "save as zoom 1", "save as zoom 2", "save as zoom 3" - (these commands are all together) ********************************** 1. Select/highlight: "save as zoom 1" 2. click "learn by key label" button so it is highlighted 3. ASSIGN: ALT+1 ('1' NUMBER KEY ABOVE 'Q') ********************************** 1. Select/highlight: "recall zoom 1" 2. make sure "learn by key label" is clicked/highlighted 3 ASSIGN: cmd+1 - this key-command (cmd+1) is assigned by default - logic will pop-up a warning saying it is assigned already to open arrange-window - when the pop-up challenges you, click "REPLACE" ********************************** 1. Select/highlight: "save as zoom 2" 2. make sure "learn by key label" is clicked/highlighted 3. ASSIGN: ALT+2 ('2' NUMBER KEY ABOVE 'w') ********************************** 1. Select/highlight: "recall zoom 2" 2. make sure "learn by key label" is clicked/highlighted 3 ASSIGN: cmd+2 - this key-command (cmd+2) is assigned by default - logic will pop-up a warning saying it is assigned already to open mixer-window - when the pop-up challenges you, click "REPLACE" *********************************** we now have 2 zoom-save (alt+1 & alt+2) & zoom-recall (cmd+1 & cmd+2) key-commands which we can use freely as we work now go to the arrange-page and zoom to a view where you can see enough of the arrangement as you like. Do command: ALT+1 - nothing happens visualy (maybe a subtle mouse glitch happens) You have now saved this zoom position as ALT+1 now zoom the arrange-page to a different view (such as a closer-in or further out zoom) Do command: ALT+2 - nothing happens visualy (maybe a subtle mouse glitch happens) You have now saved this zoom position as ALT+2 We have now assigned 2 different zoom positions, each of which shows more of the arrangement - these 2 zoom positions can now be recalled anytime using CMD+1 CMD+2 (recall zoom 1/2) NOTE: anytime while working you can set a new zoom-view and SAVE it to either "save as zoom 1" (ALT+1) or "save as zoom 2" (ALT+2) These 2 newly set zoom positions can again be recalled anytime using CMD+1 or CMD+2 (recall zoom 1/2). There is a 3rd zoom save/recall also available in key commands if you need a 3rd save/recall view - simply assign "save/recall zoom 3" to ALT+3 & CMD+3 BY USING ALT+1 & ALT+2 as SAVE-ZOOM -and- CMD+1 & CMD+2 as RECALL ZOOM, this keeps save/recall close together in your key commands, which makes it easy to remember - dont worry about over-writing the key commands (cmd+1 & cmd+2) for 'open-arrange-page-view' and 'open-mixer view' cos these aren't really required. =============================================
