Here's an easy to build 2 way 15" bass reflex cabinet ideal for a starter system... A pair of these will work ok on their own, or you can use them as bins to re-inforce your bottom and bottom-mid end, leaving out the tweeters if you like...

Use tha pair of these with any stereo power amp up to 500 watts per channel... but ease the volume in huh!... dont blow the things up!

You can build another pair, and add them together with the first pair for more power.

Not too much to say about these... a simple refex, easy to build... just note the large Bracing Strut sheet that runs right down the center vertical line inside the cab....This is made from the same 3/4" sheet as the cabinet..

That's it.... It's real simple.... just pay attention to the port size..... Enjoy !

LOUDSPEAKERS 15" BASS - ANY TREBLE UNIT OF CHOICE
PERFORMANCE From between 35 Hz to 60 Hz, UP TO 20 KHz, with 99db to 104db sensitivity for 1 watt,1 metre depending on speaker model selected.
Good bass with smooth mid-range
CONSTRUCTION Easy !!
Bracing is VERY important, so make it solid. Select the Duct measurement to suit the bass loudspeakers resonance
If you add a tweeter or horn, just position and cut out the hole... positioning is not critical.
MATERIALS 1 X sheet of 18mm, 3/4", 8' X 4' board (2438 X 1219)

SPECIAL NOTES - DUCTING SIZE

RESONANCE OF LOUDSPEAKER DIM. 'A' DIM. 'B'
40 HZ 3.1/4" inches 1" inch
45 HZ 0 5/8th" inch
55 HZ 0 1.3/16th" inch
60 HZ 0 5/8th" inch
65 HZ 0 2" inches
70 HZ 0 2.1/2" inches

Dear Dance-Tech, I'm going to build a pair of 1-15 reflex for my PA. I've been a life long rocker for 32 years and find your plans in line with all I've learned during that time! Thanks for service and check out my CD at www.forcedexposure.com/artist/bobsmith2c.htm and my vinyl box set at www.psychedelic-music.com in the RD records section. Peace, Bob Smith

This looks very cool, but I am also looking to build a couple of floor wedges for monitors; a "15 and a "12, because I have the speakers laying around.

Do you have any such plans or know where I can hook up with some?

Thanks for your help,

Jon

I like the cab design but I may narrow the rear dimension a bit to gove it the modern trapezoid look, I hope It don't mess with the throw. Also, mention of a crossover would be good (and necessary) tupp.

Wondering which of the cabinet plans you would suggest for 12" tannoy monitor reds. Wondering about adapting the 1x15 2 way reflex cabinet to be 16.5w x 28.5h x 17 deep to replicate volume. What would your advice be here?
I have room to make it taller to get to 6 cubic feet but not sure about resonance. resonance is 48.6Hz. First cabinet project. Thanks.
