given past form though there's a good chance that a new company will rise from the ashes, can't imagine everyone at Waldorf will be entirely happy with being Terratec's bitch.

I mean I'd have loved an XT, but not for $1100... I'd be all over a Q keyboard if it cost $1200-$1500.
I wonder if the development cost of the Q+ didn't have a big part to play...

They had to invest a lot in R & D becaue they were interesting and better than the competition. None of this regurgitate the same synth for 10 years running like Korg and Roland... Hell even Novation (who I love) hasn't offered anything worth moving past the supernova for. Good synths, yeah, but not new... Waldorf made awesome sytnhs, improved their product line a few times (in the short time they were around, what was it??? 10 years???)
Love 'em to death
And like I said above, mark my words... Waldorf synths will be coveted in the years to come... Rememebr the Quasimidi Polymorph? Bad company, awesome synth, and the used market on those things his awesome.

Hopefully the stuff won't become too expensive on the secondhand market because I'd love a Q keyboard or an XTk.

then again, supernova uses twice the dsp of the Q for its effects...
