well i'd have to say......wait for the Edison s/w then get or at least very carefully check out the Terratec ews64........ (see the soundcard section)..... anyhow... options coming also include a new front panel with 2...yes.....2 waldorf microwaves synths onboard..... goes up to 64mb....

you'llneed an RIAA turntable pre-amp cos they have a very specific eq-curve, and pre-amp requirements...you cant just plug your turntables into the soundcard or a mixer..... some of the smaller good quality mixers have an riaa stereo turntable input....... or run a stereo line from your dj mixer....... anyway...i reckon it's the card of choice, although there's been alot of moaning about the late release of the edison sample s/w for it.... but it should be out around now.....(16/3/98)..... better check the Terratec website for release news.... i think it's out on beta now.... well it should be any time now.....

i can answer your question... Ed!Son is a EWS64 patch editor(for uploading samples, tweaking filters parameters, eg's, oscs an so on) and beta version of it is realy out.

aha....at last..Edison !..... I've been offered a review unit, so i'm gonna check it out soon...... but IF it all is ok, Terratec definately is the one so far.... I saw it in action at wembley show.... very good,....BUT...if your doing true sample only original hip-hop you can actually do it all in s/w with no sampler..... cos s/w will do all the loops and easily record and playback all your turntable work..... then add the basslines as loops, or as all-the-way-thru-the-track-playing....then add vocals.....and mix it......
