Rising Moon_4 is the one that seems to work.

The mp3 encoding sent the reverb through the roof. I think it grabbed the verb I had on one of the busses too heavily. Also the tuned bongo-like sorta drums that introduce themselves at about 4:10 introduce themselves too loud in the mp3. And one sounds like it's at the wrong pitch. Also I'm realizing that if a major character of a track is an ambient hypnotic element, it looses a lot in lo-fi. Oh well

Still after all that and without further adieu, have a listen.

Old man???

Ya gotta click on view user atop my post. You have the same thing atop your post. That brings you to the page of whoever's post it was where you clicked view user. "RISING MOON 4". Sheesh. And I thought making the track was gonna be the difficult part. Senility setting in Influx???

:P

yeah... i think we need to add on the track pages a button to 'ADD TO MY BASKET' - that'd be useful

Thanks 4 listening gents. K, I thought for a moment of calling it Full Moon, dedicating it to the phase we've all come to recognize and love here at Dancetech.

Off to work.   Later

hey that's fine stuff sitar... those voice samples are really nice.... I also like the balance of more organic-sounding synths and strings with the occasional buzz and bleep.... nice conga (?) break, too....

Thanks for listening Ghost b.

Influx dude. Thanks for listening. Glad it didn't kill ya. :P

It actually does sound nice in full fi.

I want to listen to some tracks posted in the last several days. Will do toward the end of the week or the weekend for sure.

Influx, thanks again for listening.

It also gives me hope in humanity that you finally figured out how to navigate to a tune on the net!!! Must be tough being your age. :P

Excellent track Sitar. Love the atmosphere. Very surreal, if I can use that word here. Would LOVE a hi-fi. It's awfully long, but in now way would I make it shorter. It just works. Excellent effort man.

Thanks DefZ. Actually it is a bit long in the tooth a couple of places. Influx just pointed that out to me as well. When I listened back before posting it I was saying in a couple of places "come on voice hurry up and come in" or "come on voice finish already". I was at the edge of cringing at several places. But I simply had to stop at some point and put it up or else another week would have gone by...and Influx would have had a fit!!!

I'm going to put a couple of things in to keep it moving. If those things don't work, I'll take out several measures from 3 or 4 places which will bring it down to maybe 5 and change minutes. Will be tighter one way or the other. Thanks for bringing that up.

hey sitar...

i have to say i like this... listened right to the end, i.e it caught and held my attention. Always a good thing.

mood, good choice of sounds sounds, good rythm, excellent all round.

I'd agree with tweaking the arrangment a bit, but its 99% there.

nice work,

Niall

apt13, thanks lots. I am super encouraged by everyone. I do seem to be suffering from a bad case of the '99% theres'. A guy putting a couple of my tracks on a comp cd said exactly the same thing about one of those. Got to get it to the next level then. And then some. But thanks. This is the first actual track I've posted for you guys. And believe me, you don't know how happy you are that I waited this long :P

not too shabby for an old man!

is that a slapstick sound in the background.. it is driving me MAD (that is prolly due to having to play slapstick in this one piece that.. well, oh nevermind.. ) 909 congas? they sound good, i wouldnt have used real ones, i dont think that is would have fit well.. it sounds really really cool.. at around 5:06 i noticed it getting a lil um.. dormant, waiting for that vocal that doesnt come in till like 5:20.. when it does though, it does some good.. i definately dig the style, althought you are missing one major thing: SUB-BASS

yea.. some nice insanely long bass drones would be awesome, and gong hits would go splendidly, as well. i like the "noise" you bring in right at the end.. onl wish you had earlier. i liked it, it left me feeling a lil more complete, which was cool. oh yea, and i really dig the break at the beginning.. you know, at like 12 seconds

aaron

p.s. i am currentl working on a suite, so no musica from the a-man for a lil while yet, sorry guys, i have to redo it all (not up to my standards yet)

Second time I've listened to this and it still sounds great. Do you make your own samples? I mean the vocal and tabla samples. Jerry

Sitar,
Well done. Packed with flavor. Perhaps a bit too cerebral for the dancefloor, but a joy to listen to. Also, again you are correct in wanting to gently tweek the arrangement a little bit. Well done. Carry on.

Hey! Thanks guys. What a day. First moment to log on.

Well Aaron. I thought about the 909 conga. Thing is congas are warm and I wanted this tune to be warm. Maybe I could work it soundwise and thanks for mentioning it. I've thought about it. I used to play congas with some jazz groups so those drummer jokes come back to haunt me a bit

Fiddleface, no samples. It's all synths. A couple of presets and the rest was tweaked or built from pretty much the ground up. The romplar stuff is sample-based, yes. Played with it til I got pretty much what I wanted.

Pongoid, thanks for listening. Means lots to me. And you're right. I wrote it more as a listening at home sorta track. It could probably fit into a set somewhere though. I had Orbital's "Attached" strongly in mind when I put it together. They've included that song in their concerts. I will carry on bro. Thanks for all your inspiration.

I've filled in the yawning spaces with some stuff and hope to replace this track with the revised one next week after my workweek is over.

Funky and Lupo, thanks again
