My Roland JX-3P is going through midlife crisis...
Suddenly, every 8th key in the lower pad of the keyboard had stopped playing. Can anyone tell me what to do? or direct me to a service manual for this machine?

sounds like one of the voice chips has gone - if spares are still available I doubt it'll be too expensive to fix.

does it work over midi? does it work if you press harder or jiggle it a bit? might just need to be cleaned.

don't you people ever look at anything? same story with mr. nord over there, it's those resistors under the keys, that make it have a scale. if you saw them, you'd know, but you don't see them, and you don't look for them, so you just stand there making that mm-mm-mm "i don't know" sound over and over again but with enunciation like somehow your mm-mm is like from some kind of enlightened vantage and driving me fuvcking crazy.

you can test them, but will you?

lol @ xoxos - i was just thinking the same thing myself as I was reading it...

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

it only has 6 voices, so if it's every 8th key, it's something wrong in the keyboard scanning logic.
