How are those c64 arps created? I mean what are it's ingredients..i want to emulate them w/o actully forking out on yet onother synth...so I will have to be done on my existing equipment.

So what waves/sequences/parameters were used for those classic arps...i couldnt find anything usefull on the web.

you shoudl download+read the sidstation manual -- it's got a lot of fairly detailed into about the arp. (not sure if ti's the exact same as the raw c64..)

as far as i understand, for each tick of the arp, you can specify all the osc params (i.e wave, pulsewidth, (relative) pitch, sync, ringmod).

If I remember correctly, and this is going back at least 15 years since I programmed sound on a C64..

The SID doesn't have a built in arpeggiator.

there's always quadrasid vsti, if there's a demo you could have a look at what it's patches are made up of

I guess I have t resort to using a vsti then...i tried lotsa stuff, arps, lfos modulating the pitch...

one trick I heard was always to use a frewuency of 50hz (yanks 60 hz?) to modulate the pitch (or to trigger the notes)...none of the results were very convincing...yet.
