I went to Waldorf's FTP, and the latest I could find there was 3.53, but that OS is for the Q+ ONLY as far as any of the documentation goes. When I talked with a couple of folks at Waldorf about the architecture of the Q versus the Q+, they are very different and OS 3.53 would not be compatible with the Q's voice allocation and filter system. Waldorf offers a hardware voice expansion from 16 to 32 voices, if that is what you are referring to, but that is not simply a software issue. If you have more info, I would love to see it. Perhaps you saw something I did not. Thanks either way.

Means that simple patches need less DSP power than complex ones and therefor have a higher polyphony.
Waldorf once mentioned that this feature might be contained in future Q OS too.
But their current OS update speed isn't very impressive ;-)

that they simply advertised it. of course, as soon as ive
mentioned it, its dissapeared from their website. used to be
there on the lefthand side in the "news"
i figured it was bullshit, since it had been on there
forever....
