Hey Guys..

My Novation Nova is 3 years old and has suddenly taken to re-setting its self at the most awkward times!!

I have tried updating the OS and checking all the parameters, but it still insists on crashing and re-setting while I'm trying to compose!!!

Could it be receiving some gremlin command from MIDI that I dont know about?

I use Sonar 2.0 XL with a MIDIMAN 4x4, its getting v.v. frustrating!!

Any comments apppreciated!

It is very possible that it may be your MIDI box. My old one died and was doing all sorts of weird shit.

Also try dumping all your proggies then resetting to factory settings. Actually quite odd you ask this, because I was getting ed up responses from my JP-8080 last night. I just factory restored and it was working fine- Did the same thing to my nova a few weeks ago to cure a note sticking problem, so I would try that first.

G'luck, and let us know how it goes~

Andrew

Also sounds suspiciously like a faulty power supply to me. Of course testing this might require patience and a little shipping and handling charges on your part.

Try duck taping the thing in tight and see if that helps...?

if you think it is your power supply, email me on drdevo2000@hotmail.com and I will send you a picture of how to wire the plug, so you can adapt a third party power supply :+)
