just went to novamusik looking for info on the reMote 25
audio... they want $800 for the thing! screw that! I could
buy a usb keyboard and a multichannel audio box for that
much. i don't get it... novation's pricing has gotten so high.
that V-station software costs more than half of N-Is
product line and doesn't nearly have the depth that
something like Absynth does..... this sux. are we paying the
price for novation's overzealous attitude with the KS series?

What, so you check one online price and register that it's the going rate?

Everywhere else it's about 400 which is absolutley reasonable. It is the best controller on the market and has all sorts of extra stuff, not to mention a keyboard too and that it runs off of battery while having LCD screen etc.

And V station being more than NI stuff? That's shit- the cheapest (besides that stupid "kontakt lite" thing) is the same price as the V station- and NI ranges to ing 450 for a plug. That's outrageous if you ask me- not 250 for a novation synth.

you guys aren't paying attention... Im talking about the ReMote AUDIO... the new
version with audio capabilities. its what ive been holding out for. i wanted one of the
original reMotes but i thought, "Why can't they add audio capability?" and they did. But a
$400 increase in price is not what I had in mind. for that much I could pick up a used
MOTU 828 on ebay and have way more I/O.

as far as NI's pricing goes, I have no idea what you're talking about. You're obviously
looking somewhere different than me. The only NI prog that costs more than the V-
Station is Reaktor. Kompakt and Absynth, two far more comprehensive plugs, are in the
same price range. Everything else is at least $50 cheaper.

I've hear the Audio will get a free upfrade that will turn it into a full K-station as well.

You can't compare Software to Hardware. I have Reaktor and Vocator and a Supernova. They all rock but h/w is always going to be more expensive than s/w because it needs physical components on top of the programmed components.

that sounds pretty expensive seeing as you don't have VAT and that - the retail price in the UK for the remote audio (I can read, me) is £550 so the street price should be £470 or so, which aint too shabby for what you get.

well with now they have the "remote audio extreme" package what you're getting for
$800 sounds a whole lot more reasonable!!!

but...

has anybody noticed that the whole "audio extreme" thing has completely dissapeared
from Novation's website????? this is on friday, november 14, about 2.30 US central
time. I suppose it could have something to do with the office relocation??
