Only meee! trying to create a cross fade between two audio parts in Logic 5.5. When I select the square fader icon to do it, the menu above does not show me where I can change between fade in/out/X etc. IS there a way to do it as sometimes it does appear, sometimes not. Thanks dudes L.Dudley

cant you just use the volume envelopes to make a crossfade ? (track automation)

I dont understand the problem.... "square fader icon" ?...

to make a crossfade your audio parts have to overlap slightly, and if not it'll just do a fade in/out accordingly.

volume automation on two track fade, like k said, would allow fuller control of how you want the fade no, even if you can do croossfades within logic?

Yes sorry, that is what I meant. Sometimes when you select it (seems to be when you've already faded in or out one part), a menu above allows you to toggle between the type of fade such as in/out/X etc. Yeah I could use automation it's just that I wanted to figure this out as it is puzzling me.

has anyone noticed that irritating glitch in Logic - when you FIRST go to add an envelope (any envleope) - you cannot create a 'node' with the arrow tool until you first create at least ONE node with the node tool - after that, clicking on the level-line with the normal arrow tool, creates a node just the same...

grrrrrrrrrrrrr

err, surely you use a fade out on the end of a clip, fade in on the start and x-fade when you have 2 clips ovelapping? where's the choice?

i find the automation really shit for fades, well ,really shit overall - it's come up before, but without a "trim" it's useless for mixing as far as i'm concerned.
