hi

i just need to get a few things clear on compression to check that im aplying it correctly.

iv read a number of articles on this but is just simple things really, as none iv read have really stated the simple stuff

ok on ratio would the highest setting be 1.1 or 16.1? if someone said high ratio trhey would mean?

on threshold would 36.0 db be highest and 0.0 db lowest?

on attack what would be considered a fast attack rate? 20ms or 85 ms, im pretty sure is 20ms just want to make sure.

and on release same question

i know i must sound really thick asking i just cant get my head round it, im just asking someone to state the basics really.

high ratio = higher numbers (10:1, 12:1 etc)

low threshold = -30db, as opsed to -5db

fast attack= less miliseconds (1ms oposed to 50ms)

same for release...
