a while back I asked if there was a way to mute the Beep on the Nova..
apparently there is!

not sure if anyone tried this before me, but I did it!

I have a modified Nova without the small speaker inside, but the (blue) resistor which was connected between the two speaker contacts has been removed also, because it was causing the unit to lock-up when pressing buttons on front panel. Since then, no problems at all for many days now.

If you don't want to remove the speaker and resistor but still want to get rid of the annoying beep, you can open the unit (as shown on the link) and put some hot melt glue in the small speaker hole. That should silence that little thing without damaging anything (except the speaker of course )

I only removed the Pc speaker..
I don't see how that can affect the circuit!

it's like disconnecting a boombox speaker..
if done properly, disabling a speaker on any kind of electronic equipment shouldn't affect the unit.
(except that no sound would come out

as for removing the blue resistor.. maybe yours was damaged?!
