wow, now they've be hard to find wouldn't they? seeing as those machines were very rare to find in a studio back in the day

best bet honestly? take advantage of your local engineering workshop. They could knock you up some steel or ally plate ears to fit in a few minutes if you give them the dimensions and where the holes must be drilled etc

engineers, we need more of 'em. those guys can make anything.

I'm sure he cold use some standard ones for 4HE/19" units. Or just buy some L-profiles and drill where appropriate.

yeah depends where the locating holes are i spose, he'd have to do some drilling as you say with stock ears, but depends on the units width too, they aint all the same and even stock ears might not do it (but might with that unit cos it was a pro-studio item designed for tv stations etc

The DR16 is a very fine machine, deserves only the best rackears.

heh, they are certainly a leviathan.. impressive things to behold in real life. I once had a whole DAT transfered to another dat by a pro facility using one of those... and it came out clipped in some places, lol... bad technician that was rather than the machine, but what were your choices back then for stereo editing? atari or mac with some primative stereo editor?

i always wanted a DR16
