Simulanalog Guitar Suite

What is SimulAnalog Guitar suite?

It is a suite of vst plugin with amplifiers and analog processors for guitarists, actually containing the simulation* of:

- Boss DS-1 (Distortion stompbox) - Boss SD-1 (Super Overdrive stompbox) - Tube Screamer (Overdrive stompbox) - Oberheim PS-1 (Phaser stompbox) - Univox Univibe (Modulations stompbox) - Fender Twin 1969 (Guitar amplifier) - Marshall JCM900 Dual Reverb (Guitar amplifier)

So says the SimulAnalog site and there is much documentation available there pertaining to modelling guitar valves etc on their site or as published links... it's very interesting reading actualy, but as you can see from the image, there's no fancy interface that looks like the pedals or the amp heads etc - Just basic controls for setting, so there's little point reviewing the proceadure as you can see, those are the parameters and you adjust them - The JCM btw has 2 channels.

Try them out is all I can say, compared to an actual Marshall old valve head which I happened to be mixing just this week actualy, it sound very close - I used a dynamic on the 4x12 of the Marshall and was running some tracks with a BOSS Turbo-Distortion.

The Guitar Suite setup therefore of a Tube-Screamer into a JCM900 is pretty good... well very good actualy. Alot of the current top names tend I think to steer the setups at least as presets, towards perhaps a more US rock sound... This especialy as a freebie fills a gap I think.

Anyways, a great freebie set.. I'll add some audio soon as I get a chance, you can get huge variety using the mixture of different FX & amps.

10/10
