TABLE : PITCH - FREQUENCY - NOTE
The note numbers given here, are correct, where a piano keyboard begins at C-2, and runs the full 128 midi note numbers (inc' note-00) just over 8 octaves to G8... MIDI has a max scale of 128 'steps' available, as a consequence of being a binary code with 8 places so like all this PC stuff it's multiples of 8's... so, 16 x 8 = 128, and it begins as 00... hmm, all very esoteric..
This chart corresponds with programmes such as Cubase & Logic which allocate C1 as note 36 because this ties in with it's position on a grand-piano...
The American method seems to begin at C1 and run to C10.
Consequently some synths and software such as Cakewalk, label C1 as C3.... This doesn't affect the transfer between sequencer's, as the notes are the same numerically, and midifiles save the data numericaly, so althought VST or Logic calls, note 36 = C1 if you transfer a midi file from Cubase to Cakewalk, ( where the Note 36 is called C3 ); the kik drum will obviously appear as C3 in the edit page, but still play Note number 36.... Most strange these Americans.....
