yup NT currently- but i want to use mysql with Linux (both free !!) - cos we have a contact in LA with a bunch of linux servers and BIG bandwidth, so i want to use his servers, and therefore it HAS to be a Linux 'Dancetech Mk2' !! - also i need an SQL guru right now for ONE sql query problem i cant find an answer for - who's the SQL king round here ?

k, believe it or not, the guys on yahoo chat can answer quite a few questions. Look for "chat rooms" -> "Linux, BSD, Solaris" and/or "Programming". Its better though at night ( -5 GMT ) where there are less "kiddies" around.

I don't know if I'm the king, but I do database programming all day long, so e-mail it out or post it in the other thread.

As far as doing DT on Linux, if you're still going to be running Cold Fusion it should be a non-issue as far as porting the code. You'll just have to learn mysql as opposed to whatever you have in the back-end now.

DT is running on standard SQL queries already

... all i'll have to do is make sure everything is same case (cos mysql/linux is case sensitive) & change filepaths to forward slash

i dont think cold fusion works with linux very well at the moment, u are using CF now right?

no it works cos at the last place we did a linux system for the London Chamber of Commerce - and we had a twin P3 rack in the house setup with linux to write it on
