No offense, but it is a bit of a stupid question... I mean, to ask if the 505 can make the 303 sound, but better??? C'mon. The only thing that could make it better (assuming it had the potential to sound the same in the first place, would be that the 505 (probably) has on board effects [I know the mc 303 does, so I guess the 505 would], whilst the TB 303 has none.

There's only ONE true TB-303, clones only come close, the MC-505 is not even a clone, it just has samples of the TB-303.

Cheers and positivity and stuff.

You must be kidding... I own the problem.

TB-303 rule this game. MC-505 will never win
sounds... It will never happen.

Have you ever tryed MC-303??? MC-505 is just like one.
A biggerbug.

I think that MC-505 VS TR-606 would be more close to
the topic.

Speaking of the MC-505, how shit is it really compared to the TB-303 (just the bass part of course)? I've actually tried the Quasimidi Rave-O-Lution 309 and the filters were kinda shit...when you bring the cutoff all the way down, hardly any sound is produced and when the resonance is tweaked all the way up, it doesn't squelch that hard...

The filters on both the MC's suck! If you want true TB-303 bass sounds, buy the real thing. Hands down! The prices seem to be dropping anyway, so if can afford an MC-505, the you can afford a TB. All the MC's are good for are the drums.

The 309 doesnt sound high enough during resonance cuz you ppl never sit down with long enough to realize how important filter overdrive (the parameter that makes the 309 one of the better analog emulators) to determining whether or not the low end is discernable or the high end squelchy.. its not a very good 303 emulator, but it is a very useful drum n synth, MUCH better than any 505 thank you.. Get yerself a Syntecno TeeBee and talk to me.. i got some HOT modifications to it that willl make is sound really insane..
