Finally - my first track at Dancetech.

Any and all comments are appreciated, whether positive or "constructive".

There's a "hifi" stereo version available at gromyko.com.

hmm.

well, I can say that it is a nice clean recording, and you have a solid command of the song as a whole...

it just sounds GM to me. the slap bass sound...well..those are almost impossible to get sounding good unless theyre real and even then its a bitch, no?

others will have more to say. good on ya posting it here!

Thank heavens! I thought you were leaving or something by the post you put up in the music tech forum. My old story. I WILL listen tomorrow. I've been scarce lately. Glad you didn't disappear dude.

Thanks, sitar.

If you do listen to my track, feel free to be totally honest like influx. I appreciate constructive criticism.

Yea it is tight. And well mixed. Sound is good. Too short me thinks. Musically it has integrity but I think it would be nice to go either a little more into making the sounds or put some chords into it with pads. Just 2 ideas. And I know that I've used it in a track but a slap bass is in general not very driving. And the track is a driving track. My association with slap basses is Seinfeld and some other sitcom tv programs so it's not really fair. Those are suggestions or criticisms I guess, but mainly the track is tight with a solid foundation. My personal taste would be to take that foundation and go a bit wild on it even with presets. I'm still growing into being a dancemusic writer, but I'm finding that I can mix presets with sounds I create myself and get fairly good results, and I don't feel the guilt of accompanying only using presets. I'm not saying that's what you did. Just rambling a bit.

what exactly are you trying to acheive is what I'd like to know? , cos it's not in anyway a 'club' track or would be classed as a 'dance' track (for what that's worth) in even the broadest stretches of the word.

Whats your music making history ?
