I need some help finding a plugin/fx that gives the sound a dimension of warmth and naturalness. I'm tired of software sample editing that only end up sounding digital (crystal clear & crisp!).
Please, give me some advice on how to get the sound more hot/analogue.

use an analog mixer and processors?

no matter what anyone ever says digital emulation is still just digital emulation.

There's a vintage warmer multi-band comp plugin by PSP. That might be what you are after.

But as Influx says, it won't give you real analog warmth, which can not be achieved with digital processors.

Regards.

Steve.

vintage warmer rocks. no idea if its what youŽre looking for though... very subjective views on such concepts as "natural" and "warm"

I think the PSP sounds brittle as heck. It doesn't do anything near what I would call "warm"

But it has a cool sound nontheless.

frankly, yes. I really don't like what it does to audio. Its grit is not warm.

just an opinion

Thanks. Different opinions about that vintage warmer though I have to check it out. Anyway it has to do do something with the sound to avoid the typical "cleaness" I'm takling about.

hm. psy, youŽve proven the quality of your ears before so iŽll have to get me hands on one to check it put. i only used it in a studio where i was quite happy how it helped stuff fit in.

anyway... realistic analog quality from a digital system... shaky grounds. try PT

well ya convinced me to have another go around with it, this time spending a little more time on the controls (which I don't really like). I got some interesting compression effects, but nothing really smooth. And the drive and EQ just sound cheap to me... but it's not as bad as I initially thought. Used minimally, it could add some analog-y warmth. But those controls are a pain in the ass!
