Just been messin about on the web and found this free compressor called the Blockfish. It 'looks' quite nice, but I won't be able to use my studio for a couple of days, so I am wondering what it sounds like. Anyone had a play about with this thing yet?

Ive used it> VERY aggressive sounding compressor. nice and smeary. definitely not "precise" or "clinical"...

Also, "floorfish" is a quite nice expander with a character.

theres another free compressor called cushion that does might well, too

All of the software compressors that I own are just too weak. This sounds great. Can't wait to try it!

use it all the time now. sounds great on drums and bass parts. twiddle with the settings on the reverse side and you can get some really cool results.
