Yo - So I had this old Rage card and I got glitches in the audio whenever there was heavy picture movement on the monitor, and even with my new Matrox dual VGA card, I am having this problem. Both cards are AGP. Any thoughts? I read k's article about this, but he only mentions PCI cards. Are these the same in this instance, sharing PCI bus? If not - how do I fix this problem? Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is, in your bios, check and see if there's an option to "assign interrupt to VGA"... try disabling that. I think that somehow incororates it into the PCI bus? Wow, I'm really making things up here, but it all sounds legit...

Make sure they aren't sharing IRQs.

Nope - the vid card is IRQ 16 and the audio card is IRQ19. Only shared IRQ's are for my USB port...

How do I check DMA enabled?

No onboard sound on the mobo so nothing to disable there.

right-click on My Computer, select "properties" Select hardware tab. Click "Device Manager" button. You'll see a tree-type view with all your hardware. Open up "IDE/ATAPI disk controllers" and double click on "Primary IDE" (and also "Secondary IDE" in turn.

There should be a dropdown under "Advanced Settings" that should be set to "DMA" or "DMA if possible".

If you find the dropdowns and they're not set to DMA, set them.

If you don't find dropdowns, or there's no choice for DMA, visit your motherboard manufacturer's website and download updated drivers for your motherboard. These should enable DMA.
