Cheers folks. Here's something new from me, some moody, melancholic night-music. I've been staying away from the keys for almost 6 months now, but as my life seems to get back to normal, I tend to enjoy making music again. Not a flawless piece, so your comments are very wellcome.

The harmonies you're developing here at the opening are very nice. Drums are
nice and subtle so far. I like your use of metal and glass percussion sounds. It
really creates a cold and desolate soundscape. I'm waiting for something here,
it's a very long period without percussion, but you fill that void with some nice
harmonies. Now that the drums have come back in though, I feel like I've
misssed something. It needs to have something new with that drop, like a
doubletime beat, or a bassline or something. It's a great track, and even as a
'track in progress' it stands up fine on its own.

Peaceout,

Peter

Yeah, I've asked that question to myself as well, doesn't those drums need to evolve somehow? It was too evident to bring back the same percussion line... I'll se what I can do about that, thanks for the tip and the comments!

cheers,
welder

Is it just me, or are we the only ones here?

sometimes I wonder about that too...

also, most of the song uploaders doesn't come here to ask for comments / say hello / advertise their work / whatever... I mean, it's fine with me, I just wonder why. I guess it's not because dt forums doesn't have any avatars

k asked me about this a couple weeks ago...the issue of dt's newfound code-of-silence....or relative quietness.
i have my theories but that's irrelevant....just like most of my theories (!) .
but i simply think people are growing up and have gotten bored.
this is natural.

anyway rags....i'm not sure that it's the beat that needs to bring life back into the last part of the track......
but rather those nice subtle harmonies which get introduced midway through the song....and then disappear. i think those should be brought back but like really almost in a big way.
i think you could manage to keep the drums simple this way....and also remove a little of that coldness which needs to give way to a big dose of sunshine....

otherwise.....a very good start. i like those sneaky distorted bits.

Well, now I'm confused.

Hell no.

But thanks for the listen Clay, I'll see if I can do something for those nice harmonies, maybe I can arrange something for them at the end :-) If I'd only know which part you mean... (time when they start maybe?)

"but i simply think people are growing up and have gotten bored"

Ok fine. But what about those others who are still young? Also, what about the new, fresh ones, or are we too old for them to mix?

Alot of OLD people here now (im 26 and see myself as a pup on dt)

Quite a few not so open to different types of music, newer music, some more commercially popular, some not - it doesnt matter, holding on too much somewhere, sometimes - clay could have a real good point, bored thing- but if the young blood keep getting batted staright back out the park, then the old will get older, and dwindle- atleast somewhat.....and the young will group together, still, in other places- more comfartable places.

But- *just* maybe it IS just a summer thing

Anyhow, i dont really feel comfartable commenting on stuff im not so sure about, but it was pretty nice (if that even helps)- keep it up, especially if your 25 or under
