Just wondering what your favorite mp3 convertion program is? I'm looking for one to use but they all seem expensive and cheesy.

Audiograbber is pretty nice. Whole lotta features for free. It's primarily a CD ripper (and a beautifully elegant one at that), but you can also encode files not originating on CD.

But do get the free LAME codec to use within audiograbber as it's widely agreed upon as the best sounding codec.

Isn't great when the best stuff is free?

I use wavelab, but the LAME one is considered very good. Not sure what wavelab uses tbh
