How important do you feel having an on off switch is?

For example, do you think it's nore important than the headphone socket?

Do you guy's use the headphone socket?

If you had a choice between the On/Off switch and a Headphone socket which would win?

I think the on/off switch would win cuz it's really annoying if you build the machine in your rack, to pull the plug somewhere under your desk.

in a rack unit i don't need a headphone socket. i'll just plug the machine into a keyboard and the mixer.

in a keyboard-synth the headphone socket is more usefull

I think probably the on/off switch is more important than the headphone socket on any "professional" gear. I may be wrong but everybody I know plugs their headphones into their mixer or amplifier.

well wierd, cos i always boot up my entire studio from the mains switch... and off....(BUT, SPEAKERSMON-AMP ON LAST ON POWER UP.... OFF FIRST ON POWER DOWN)...... all kit has surge protection.... wassa prob ?... have you ever gone around turning on/off 30-50 items of kit each time you wanna work/go to sleep ??.... you must be nutz ?.......

and i;ll add....in 10 years i never blew anything !!....(er....apart from my wages !)....headphones rule...programming in bed rules ?!!
