A few thoughts on the patches in v3.1

1) How come that 'Worry Free' appears twice in Performance bank A ?

2) I've never seen a decent Flute patch for the Supernova. Has anyone tried to create one ( I've tried myself by mixing sine waves with a little noise, but they always sound like a wheezy organ)

3) Has anyone managed to create that Venga Boys lead sound? ("up & down, up & down"....). I think it needs 2 oscillators tuned a 4th apart.

Just a few thoughts anyway!

Regards

Paul Kaufman

That sound you talk about is available without any work at all on the Roland jp 8000. I can't remember the patch name, but its there for sure! See if you can't have a little play with one, and fasiling that I could perhaps get you some parameters, or even (at worst) a sample in .wav. form. If you have an Akai you can use 'akai disc' to transfer the sample to your machine, and use the filters there to tart the sample up a bit...

By the way the patch on the jp 8000 is called "INTERVALIC".

I'll try to get sample of it then.

How about flute patches? is this something that the Supernova struggles with? As I understand it a woodwind sound should be composed of a number of sine waves with a bit of white noise mixed in to give the breath sound, but, as I mentioned earlier, all my attempts end up sounding like wheezy organs.

Depends what you want....for real Flute/Shaku type sounds a sampler/Sample+Synthesis synth is possibly the best thing...synth flutes, there are already some in the 3.1beta2 sounds...A016 synus for example..

cs6x - is it out yet ? How is it ?
How do you rate the Q compared to the Supernova ? Does one need both ?
