Please help me with the MPC 2K. here is my problem

I am trying to use it to sequence my CS1X, but I can't get it to use anything other than the sound I am playing in performance mode(which uses up four midi channels) or if I set it to channel 5-16 the piano sound (the first sound in MULTI MODE, Which uses up only 1 channel) The cs1x should, in theory, be able to play 16 MULTI sounds at once. PLease help me. how can I tell the MPC 2000 which to play?

Yeah, you can only access 16 channels in the GM/XG? mode, multimode I think it is.

Nah,you can access the gm/xg on channel 5-16 and also the sounds that make up the performance sounds on these channels too. Channels 1-4 are reserved for the performance sounds. Those performances are made up of layers of sounds. Those individual sounds can be accessed on channels 5-16 via bank and program select commands on your sequencer. Make sure the cs1x is in performance mode,in multi-mode you can only access the gm/xg banks,not the performance banks.
So,if you want to listen to a performance sound on bank 5 then enter a bank msb 0f 63 and lsb of 32 and a program change of 20 (for example). Play this on channel 5 and you will have a performance sound on that channel.If you require further help let me know.

My question was how to SET THE BANK ON THE MPC2000!!!
Do u know how to do that. Thankx for the info ne way, I am just getting pissed at my MPC 2000!!!

mpc is one of the best asrX is just to capitalize on the
dance music seen!!!! what about the one and only sp1200???
