I am having trouble finding an external SCSI CD-ROM in my part of the world. I'm in Halifax, Canada. Do you know of anyone who has a compatible CD-reader I could buy? I have had my ulta-5000 for two weeks only playing with the dam piano sounds. Just got RAM today (64MB chip was $130 U.S.) so a cheap 4x or somthing would be good. Can anyone suggest a site to buy from? Any store in Toronto (all you fellow Canadians) Thanks

check it out.
though i don't have a ultra 5000, i have an esi 4000.
i bought a used scsi cdrom at computer go round (used computer stuff) for $30 u.s.d.
it has the apple logo on the front but the guts are really a matshita cdrom.
i also have a zip drive on the same scsi chain. if ya can find one they work fine. there's probably a few around.
it is old and only a 2x speed but when i spoke with the emu tech he said it was fine because the emu will only take in a certain amount of info so no need for speed.
i've had no problems and for $30 i thought it was worth the risk.
good luck.
