Does anybody know the difference in use between the serial port (to host) and midi on yamaha equipment in conjunction with their UX256? Is there a difference in timing, speed etc? What equipment of yamaha besides the cs1x and the cs2x actually makes use of it?

maybe you can, dont take my word for it, im a newbie  i DO KNOW however that the CS1X can only have either the host lead or midi selected at the same time  cos there a switch at the back of the synth that selects either pc, mac or midi. suck it and see mate (try it out).
