I am having problems loading programs onto my Akai S2000 from my PC (1.4 Ahtlon/Win2k). Some of the data seems to get randomised on the way. Has anyone had similar problems.

Get an S5000 or S6000. They're blowing them out cheap and you can use USB to transfer samples and control the box. Personally, I think I got the deal of the century when I paid $1199 for a brand-new, 128 voice, 16-out sampler with FX and 32 channels of MIDI.
