why do the arpeggios sound different when arp patterns are sent to midi\not sent to midi in the arp menu.they always sound better when not sent to midi but i want the individul notes so that i can deconstruct the arp patterns so i can learn how they work.

heres how to do it
say for argument you have midi channel 1 as
the channel you wish to use.

turn arp on just triggering the program
record you notes/chord or whatever as normal
so that as your seqencer loops round it plays
your arp all in time every time.

now create another midi track also on midi
channel 1 ,select this track but click off the
record button that is for that track only (in logic
it is a red r ) set arp to prog and midi and hit
your master record button and it records
without re triggering the same notes.

stop and there it is, arps do sound slightley
different as iam sure an arp being triggered
each bar or bars is slightley out when
compared to one droped into a seq then
quantised, i think some also have very subtle
grooves which get destroyed in a strict
quantise.
