I am thinking of buying one of the above.
Can anyone give me an unbiased recommendation on one of these two samplers.

cheers.

Hi R-Tek,

I live in Canada. I bought an E5000 Ultra for $2150 Cdn. Buying the 8 outs expansion would cost me approx. $3000 total cost. The E6400 Ultra costs $2800 here. That's a difference of $200 Cdn (approx $135 US) for 4 more outputs.

I'm not saying that the E5000 is necessarily better than the E6400. I'm just saying that it was better for my needs. When I looked at it it made the most sense to me since I feel that the E6400 Ultra has the ability to go to 16 outputs and 128-voice polyphony up on the E5000. Once I started looking at the cost to get there, 2 E5000's made more sense to me, giving me a backup unit and the ability to split the voicing tasks making it tighter. The analog outs are not that important to me since I plan on going out through the ADAT expansion.

If the E6400 Ultra works best for you and the price is reasonable for you, go for it. It is a great machine too.

Fernando

Yeah cool, I weren`t trying 2 start a row or nothing, or try and make out the 6400 was better, I was just explaining my reason for saying what I said originally.
