Just something i was wondering,i was playing about on my keyboard this morning and came across the chord above(the A# being a major variation when hit instead of A).I got loads of melodies to work off it,and was pretty happy with the ideas i got.Is there many more of these 5(or more) note chords, its pretty difficult to pick them out by ear because i can't get the next to "follow".any ideas?

I reckon its a D#6 with a V (or 5th) overtone (ie Bb played as well).
I've found playing the V chord is good for stuff like Pads or organs (like Rhodes)
'cause it gives a mellow inflective feel.

I've found a few synths have presets particularly in the Pad section
where some voices are detuned to a 5th for this reason.

You've stuck a chord with me there man ;)

I just took a jazz class at school. Awsome i learned so much about the diferant forms and influences of each. well worth your time to explore that world. It really gave so much insite into modern music and it's origin.
