Hi folks,
Download this clip and listen to this nice GRITTY sound! I'm very curious about what kind of synthesis they have used.
I guess it easily can be made on any VA-synt (by anyone's grandmother :-) But i've just discovered my intrest in creating those.. crispy wizzy noises.
So how do they make this sound??

I think its a supersaw- i'm fucking with my JP right now and the on board distortion truley blows, but it is sounding really similar with just a basic supersaw with some detuning and distortion...I can upload a sample if you want, but it's not gonna sound as similar due to the shitty distortion.

sounds like Korg VA to me... I've made sounds like that on my MS2000... it's the distortion and a bandpass... I don't think it's too tricky, but hey... shrug. detuned sawtooths through a band pass with distortion... LOVE all that texture you get... mmmmm

hey,
well, can't listen to the sound right now, but my cheap-ass tip to grit (on a virus.. but probably whatever as well) is:

-filter with decent amount of res
-S&H lfo with the rate set VERY high
-cutoff modulated by the lfo by a very small amount

sigh...
