Damn! Check out the new Roland SP-808! It is A sampler/effects processor/four track/mixer and sequencer all in one. There are so many options. It has all your filters and the D-beam. It has a built in zip drive, automatic tempo calculation, and four anolog outputs with optional I/O that provides six. Its got a whole lot more. I don't now but I think this one is gonna make alot of producers happy campers! I have alot of articles so if you have a question just ask me.

awww thats not fair !!you mean im going to have to invest
vast amounts of time and probably money into this shit
why cant ijust make some boil in the bag type shit?

what fucking scares me is alot of people have these babies
and not only does it reinforce the popular misconception
that techno is valueless noise by numbers ,but also were
at a stage where Joe fucking punter doesnt Know "boil in
the bag" from the real deal causing the true talents to
get lost in the muck.
Did you hear Dance E-jay this cunt of aprogram can knock
out the kind of house that makes me vomit in about ten
minutes.Wheres this going to lead?Fuck this I going to get me a shotgun.

yeah, but what you got to remember about these programs is that while the quality sounds good at first, play them back to back with a commercial recording and they sound weak and lifeless.

Hi everybody,
I play the guitar in a "Black-Music" band (2 guitars, 1 bass and a sax) and I must say the 808 changed our lives at all (for good). We use it for:
1) Drums (you know that the only way the drums can sound real is playing them from recorded phrases, the sequenced ones are just flatulences).
2) Brasses ( why trying to imitate those great big-band brasses sounds when you can take them from a commercial CD).
3) Effects for the second guitar (these are limited but they are good enough)
4) From time to time we record our jam session on disk. Amazing!!!!

From what I've heared:

You can do a lot more with cubase VST than that SP808 can even think about doing. But first you need to buy a $1500 portable PC and a $? software.

The MPC2000 is better as seq., but it is not a hard disk recorder.

D-Beam is not stupid if you are a "real" musician and you use it as an expression device. It feels good modifing the effects in real time with my guitar stick over the D-Beam.

I agree that marketing policies of Roland are shit.

Regards
