I just listened to M14, take down resistance, scorpion girl, and losing earth, and in all cases, I'd say that you have a cool idea or two, and that your engineering isn't too bad, but your compositional ideas need work, like you haven't studied or applied enough theory. Your enthusiasm is noted, but you would do well to spend a bit more time in the woodshed.

Ah Ape - I couldn't find the right words to say it without sounding insulting. :-) Funky - like I said in an earlier post, you have some cool ideas in those toons (I too listened to them all), but it seems like you had one or 2 good ideas in each song, and then built the song around that idea. I'm not trying to tell you what to write (hey - it's your music), but it sounds to me like you do need to spend a little more time developing your tracks. Like building parts AROUND what you have so the entire track isn't 5 minutes of listening to 2 drums patterns that fade in and out occasionally. Know what I mean?

I still think you need to push those hats back in the mix, and those vocal samples forward. They are more interesting to listen to than plain hats.

Well said Defector Z.
I was ganna go back and make some changes to
t-d-r and I found that it locks up when opend.
So all I have now is the completed version to work with. However I still have M14, losing earth,
and spred wide open to work with, so please bombs away!

Listening to Spread Wide Open. Very interesting things going on. The vocals could be much louder. They sound good. Would like to hear them more. Lotta good stuff in there. I would let the various ideas you bring in and out stay for a longer time and use fewer of the ideas. They all work well with eachother rhythmically. More time to let them get under the listeners skin would be good. You have enough sections that if you were to play them out, you'd have enough for 2 or 3 tunes. Nice work though. You put lots of time and effort into it.

hey thanks, sitar, ape, defector z, very helpful info. I took some advice on spred wide open, calmed it down a bit and threw some 404's in there.

scorpion girl wouldn't work for me but I checked out the 2 that would play for me - warped and M14. Interesting ideas. would you call that industrial? pretty cool because your rhythm and melodic components are all industrial noises and stuff rather than common synth sounds. As mentioned already you caould use more transitional parts and break into a 2nd theme or something, work around the main part wihtout it getting too monotonous. Can't really comment on production skills becuase of the quality of the MP3 but seems OK.
