I'm a dork and no one cares, but MAN i just have to praise my new MOTU 2408. FINALLY ditched that old DSP Factory P.O.S. for something with real speed. I was playing the Gigapiano like mad @ 1.5 ms latency with my CPU never going over 15% and NO DROPOUTS.

Finally, MOTU's done something right... and this is the original version, too, not the MK2 or 3!

Ok, enough bragging. Yay!!!!

Interesting. Same motherboard I'm running, but I'm running an Athlon XP 2000+

I just found the 2408 mk II w/PCI card at Sweetwater for $599.

I'm buying

Thanks Psy!

PS - sorry, I won't be buying your DSP Factory

Yeah, I could've gotten it cheaper, but with Sweetwater I get no hassles and I can send it back if it fucks up. Besides, it's still like $350 off the Mk III

BYE BYE POS DSP FACTORY!!!

Psy, it works great in Sonar but my regular sounds, like playing Winamp or something - they come out all distorted. Did you have this problem?

I use a cheapie SB card for Windows audio and media player/etc. because I've been making do with Yammie's un-multiclient drivers for so long, it's the only way I could listen to an MP3 without shuttind down all my music apps.

Now, strangely enough, I heard some breaking up and distorting the other day through the SB. I switched my Windows audio over to the 2408 and no problems. I've never had mp3's break up like that before, but the 2408 seemed to fix the problem, not solve it. You have the clock on pci-324 internal, right? And larger buffers don't help?
