You can automate FX in the Studio Version, but you will not have Assignable FX Controls on the mixer/channel strip. In Studio the effects are automated the same was as 2.0, either via envelopes or from the effect interface.

From an algorythmic standpoint it's the same EQ, but it has been updated to support DX 8 automation. It also shows up directly on the mixing console and Track Inspecter as either an EQ Plot, single band, or multiband.

The versions shipping with SONAR 3 Producer Edition have been updated to support DirectX 8 automation. There are also some minor bug fixes.

Sonar 3 is shipping on Monday, earlier than announced. I don't know why but my gut is more excited about this than ever before. I can't wait!
