er.... not knowledgable on this area, but, if it's a case of all your s/w sequencers' sources cause drift, maybe it is the frame rate... i dunno .... does that at all influence the resolution of the original midi clock, which in some way maybe alters the whiole sync..... for example if i sync 2 softwares tiogether, i noticed in tests the frame rate (although smpte was not being used) affected the sync of the softwares when clocking to a midi clock .... maybe it's that??

hi,
I have the Drumstation V2 with 1.3OS. When I hook up my TR-707 to the Drumstation, it also drifts off sync. I have not looked at my framerate yet, and I will do that tonight. Also, the DIN-sync cable I am using is a good one. Phil, can you verify the framerate variable? I know mine is set to 25fps using Cubase 3.5. Should we jack it up to 30fps? Or are there any other variables we should be looking at in our MIDI rig? I hope to figure out what I am doing wrong soon. Thanx for any help...

Hi again,
As you may have read earlier, I too was having problems with the DIN sync OUT and my TB-303 and TR-707. I had a technician look at my 303 and he told me everything was working alright. When I got home, I started exploring my sequencer Synchronization Menu in Cubase 3.5 VST. After tweaking with the "Pre Roll" box in the menu(i have no idea what it is)and setting it from 50 to 100, the 303 works fine now. It may not have been that exact fix, but I know it was in the Synchronization Menu in Cubase 3.5VST. So, my advice is to twiddle with your synch options on the sequencer you are using. I know this isn't very clear, but mine works now...all of a sudden. I hope this helps someone out.

you 're right

here are details:
in cakewalk 6.0 -> settings
-> midi output , I'vetweaked " transmit MIDI start continue stop clock "
but I don't know wath to do with other voices ,for instance " transmit SPP "
" locate delay for SPP "
" MIDI output port " " MCC "
" timecode master unit id "

I 've tryed to set in many ways bat my tb , which perfectly works , doesn't answer ,

do iI need 7.0 or 8.0 version ? or it's just a setting trouble ?

My dealer said that a MIDI cable was right for the connections is it true or I need another kind ?

sorry for my macaronic english

your dealer is the problem, he's wrong a midi cable is not nessessarily all you need. not all midi cables have all five of the leads wired inside, because midi dosn't need them all. DIN does need them all, so if your midi cable has only 3 of the leads connected it won't send a damn thing. since your tb isn't starting at all, and the rest of us here seem to be having a drifting problem, I would ges that that is the cause of your problem

I cannot offer support for products we dont make. Sorry I cannot help with the settings for Cakewalk, Try the Cakewalk site for Tech support.
