Hi!
I'm actually using Cakewalk 6.0 Audio Pro and I have a lot of problems.

Firstly, driver problems w the AWE64Gold, secondly, this fucking software add everytime big noises like SCRITCHES and BRRRRRRRRES when I'm adding ActiveMovie FX or when I'm equalizing! AND I'M NOT SATURATING!!!!

Thirdly, the dealer told me (I shit on!):
"U can mix 16 audio channels w a P133 and 16MB RAM."

FUCK YOU!!!

I'm working w a p133, 64MB RAM and a SCSI "wide" HD and u know what?!? It's impossible to mix more than 5 channels (44,1 Khz) without losing a lot of sound quality. And Cakewalk add big holes without sound if u r reading tout much audio files at the same time.

I tested my processor w Norton Utils, and when I'm reading 2 tracks at the same time, my processor work at 100%.

For this price, Cakewalk is a big fucking pile of shit.

I don't know what about Cubase.

I'm looking 4 Logic Audio Pro by Emagic. Someone can tell me something about it?

ThanX!!!

Cake.

Hilevelt,

You really need both the Ram & cache upgrades. The cache upgrade is vital for memory / disk intensive processes (i.e., digital audio). It'll give your system another 10% speedwise. Maybe only go to 64MB & get the cache? Anyway, here in Europe a COAST module (to upgrade the cache) is only ~£30 ($45). If you can afford the system you have, it shouldn't be a big deal to get both....

Thanks at all!

Kilo, I'm using an IBM SCSI "wide" 7200 RPM(or 6400!) 2GB with a 2940AHA UW from Adaptec. I think that's OK!

I have other problems w CW but it's very hard 4me 2 explain in english. Somebody speak french?

Kilo,
I'm in Los Angeles, and Event is in Santa Barbara. They're nice people, offered to trade me up to the bas speakers if I bought the 20/20's (too much cash). Still, if I get the Gina this weekend, I'll get you a review.
Speaking of Event monitors, they'll cost me 200 quid here, same as the Absolute 2's, Alesis, Yamaha, & everything else. I'd be happy to try your British monitors, so you wanna throw out some brand names for us yanks (it doesn't mean much asking a salesman for "British" monitors)?

Well, get to a specialised hi-fi shop & ask....stuff like Castle, B&W Mordaunt Short etc...but i have to say that all the manufacturers from Alesis , Mackie & Soundcraft to Yamaha are making speakers, and they are all ok.........

Is the ASR-X any good? How does it compare to the MPC's? Is it worth to wait for the SU70 or whatever it's called?
Is it any good for breakbeat-jungle-drum'n'bass type music? Is the sequencer any good? What about the timing?
Any bugs?
TNX!
