what would be the best choice of a virtual analogue synth, in average that is. The Roland JP-8000, Yamaha AN1x or Nordlead2? Has anyone tried these machines and being able to compare them?

I would have to agree with controlvoltage.The JP-8 is godsent-pounding bass,shimmering pads and trancing sweeps.Its a classic.With all the new software out,Dust off yer old gear and load'er up

FYI, the guy that writes the Yamaha XG editing software for the
SW60 soundcards / DB50 is writing an editior for the AN1X;
a criticism of the AN1X against the JP-8000 were that the controls
were easier to use on the Roland - this COULD make a difference
I guess if you like the XG Editor software / computer interface...
then again the sound IS obviously more important, so i'll shut up.

AN1X stands fully up to the JP in sound quality, just because the JP is more expensive dose NOT make it better sounding (a lot of people think like that:-( , its a shame...... we should be grateful to yamaha for there low price gear it creates price-drop from other manufacturers ,,

ps dose anyone know about those knew quasimidi synths Nucleus and Sirius

I like my JP-8000 'cause it's got a great DX-100 patch on there.......;-)
Shit, for the price of these things, we could buy:
-a Matrix 1000
-a Juno 106
-an SH-101
-and-
-(2) BassStations
-plus-
-a DX-100 (if you really think you need more shit after all that)

-OR, HOW ABOUT SIX FUCKIN' BASSSTATIONS. SHIT, 6-PART MULTI-TIMBRAL AND 12 OSCILLATORS!!! WOO-HOO!
