Maybe they got sick of me calling and asking if Cakewalk 7 could do this or that. Glad I bugged them cus they finally put ouf a feature list 8 pages long!! I was totally blown away by the changes they made. Now I'm glad I waited and didn't buy Logic Audio. Check it out at Cakewalk.com you'll be amazed. Estimated street price 399. dollars. Not bad.

hmm.... I'd like to try a demo of that....I've only tried V6..... the main thing about that version I didnt like was that i couldnt find a mixer for all assigned audio channels.... like icould find one for individual channels, but not one that appears with channels for however many audio tracks you have created , which seemed totally illogical to me..... also there was a MASSIVE delay between fader or pan movement on the single fader panel and actual audio movement.... about 1-2 seconds...outrageous..... in comparison the delay on vst is almost negligible... stll....cake does install and set-up flawlessly compared to vst..... on the machines i've tried anyway.....

any chance of sending that list over as a text file and i'll publish it...

There's still one thing that Logic has, that all these other sequencers like Cakewalk can't compete with, and that's Hyperedit. For creating drum parts it's awesome, because you can easily adjust the velocities with sliders.

What I do like about Cake, is the soundfont manager, if you're an AWE64/32 user that is.

Well, AVE/VE, are you talking about velocities on idividual notes? Because Master Tracks Pro has realtime sliders for all controllers for tracks and it's only a 96 dollar program.
Here's some of the Cakewalk features:
has a new console view which as they say:
New Console View for mixing, recording and editing audio and MIDI, supports automation and remote control.
Temporarily transpose, time-shift, and scale velocities of individual MIDI tracks on -the-fly.
Some stuff I like:
UNLIMITED LEVEL OF UNDO.
with undo history.
uses any directx plugin for effects.
Drag and Drop between open files, window exployer, desktop into cakewalk.
I'll be getting it soon, then I'll know.
