Ok, I am now rid of the old rust and am now at a level of which my Dance/House tracks are more than acceptable. Thanks also to the Supernova for giving me wonders of inspiration.

How do I go about approaching record companies ?
What do you all think are the best methods ?

I had a few record deals some years ago during the TECHNO / Hardcore hey days.
The records went out. I made some money. I was also ripped off but the thrill of a record release superseded my anger at the time.

I am now want back into the scene as I have some major points to prove. To my self also. I want to hit the commercial dance market. A little underground stuff also.

I could also do with a partner in crime who has some decent kit also and would like to possibly get together and rustle some ideas together.

Where in Scotland? I'm up there most of the year and was thinking of teaming up with someone. Interested?

I'd be really interested to know how the hell you managed to get a record deal. Everyone's always saying to me, "it's not what you know it's who you know". Well, then I'm completely buggered as I don't know anyone with a record label! I'm about to buy a CD burner and was going to print off 50 copies and distribute them to friends and any appropriate labels via post. Is this a good idea, or is a complete waste of time? I was even thinking about setting up my own label, but I haven't got a clue where to start. Ideas anyone?

- Sam
