free softsynth called Crystal by green oak. Supposed to be a rival to Absynth and its free. Anyone aware of this and what d'you reckon to it?

Top synth.. been telling ppl about this d/l for a while now, surprised I didn't see it mentioned here on DT (but then I'm not the most observant of ppl!)

Should be on V1.4 now.. and some free patches to d/l there too..

Anyone played with the DMI Virtual flute yet?

i d/loaded the pc version and the zip is corrupt when i try to unpack it - ??

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

i just d/l'ed it. makes very complex, long, evolving sounds. probably excellent for soundtrack type stuff. sound wise, some patches sounded ery good, others not so... mind you, i only played with it for a minute. it could probably keep you interested for years with all the possibilities. also, i already think it could probably recreate any patch my microQ could do. of course, the timbre of the instrumnt is different... but the power is there.

not bad at all for a free synth.

1.5 and i've been telling you about it since may. 1.4 finally saw the addition of 'other' types of filters.

unfortunately, there's no way i'm gonig to put a 9 meg file on floppy so knock yourselves out.

yeah, d/l'ed for me no problem. sounds a little weak to me. Not feelin' the filters. I only ruffled through the presets, but nothing even close to absynth.
