I'm getting a pentium 2, 200MHZ for a dirt cheap price and am considering buying a s/h copy of logic to sequence soundfonts on an EMU APS along with a DB50XG on a soundblaster - which version should I go for? 3.6? Check my thread in Music Tech called "Super cheap pc-based setup" for more details.

well it'd be Logic Silver, unless you found a real old version somewhere, dunno if a 200mmx would run it tho, probably it would just.

Thanks for responding kilo - one thing I didn't mention is that I'm not expecting to run any audio tracks, I just want to use midi tracks to sequence soundfonts on the APS, and a DB50XG... I should be able to do that with no problems, right? And if so, could I even use a newer version - like 5.0 and up? Or would you recommend trying to find something older?

oh I see... cakewalk pro-audio v5.1 then or cubase 2.8 (both run fine on a P100 even)
