When adding an external scsi-cdrom drive, does it matter what speed the drive has regarding to the speed it will import samples?
Somebody offered me a 4-speed drive, does this one work?

A quad-speed CD-ROM drive will work fine with your sampler; there's really no need to get a faster one. Just make sure it's compatible - NECs are not. Go with Apple, Sony or Toshiba.

my four speed works fine
the only problem is that when you scroll the volumes, it can lag behind a bit. However uploading to the sampler from the drive is faster than my zip drive.

P.S. I need sample CD Roms. I know it's illegal but I'll take the chance and I'm not a fink. If you know anyone who will ship me CD-r replicas of sample disks, I'll be happy to pay.
