I have heard many things (good and bad) about both samplers. The question is which one is geared more toward electronic dance music, if at all? Also this is type of a poll to rag the competitions samplers. Please tell us why you like it or you don't!

Peace

I would go for the yamaha. why. It has awesome filters on board, standard!! Also 3 effect channels. The price is very low. It has been developed for dance-music. The akai's r also great, i own one myself, they sound very natural. They r suited for all music, but the yamaha has the right specs to begin with dance right away, before spending a lot of money on options. Since a lot of samples r available in wav-format, the compatability isn't really a big case.
But remember : Akai is the standard!

no doubt about it - you gotta go for the akai - its the professionals choice - better sound quality, much more upgradable, that 'akai' sound and 26 filter types. Its more money - but its worth it

16-bit lineair is 16-bit lineair! So What do you mean when you say that the Akai sounds better?? My question is: can the A3000 read Akai multi-samples???

Its all about the D/A converters - these can vary in quality and therefore affect the sound.

Don't take my word for it - listen to then and you'll see i'm right.

I own an Akai S5000 and an E4 and although the Emu sounds fantastic, for tight beats you can't beat the Akai.

I think Rampulla's thread is innane to say the least, and is indicative of the syndrome 'gear jealousy'.
