I really need to know if anyone uses a zip 100 or 250meg drive with a S2800 or S3000 (non XL os) and if it work well or not.

Check the Akai website, and check the revision history of the OS's for your machine. Somewhere along the lines it should say "added support for Iomega Zip drive"

I'm using a Zip with my S2000 without problems.

I use 100M Zip with my S3000,and it works.If you follow instruction,i think there should be no problem.
Do you know where i can find Akai sounds lib (for free!!)in the internet, apart the Akai web sites(this month there is no support for PC )?
