Why has my s2000 a midi out port? Is it only for sample transport in midi format, or are there any other means of use? thanks for any comments,
martin

Almost all Midi-instruments have besides the IN, an OUT port and also frequently a THRU. The IN port is off course for recieving data. Every data that comes into the IN port goes exactly the same (no less, no extra data) out of the THRU port. A THRU port is made for serial linking of Midi instruments on one Midi port of your Midi interface. The OUT port outputs the midi-data from the IN port plus the midi-data the instrument self sends, like parameters you change on the instrument self, example: when you change the filter-cuttoff settings with the data wheel on your S2000, these changings are sended. You can record these changes with a sequencer in real-time. Another example: the S2000 has an internal Midifile player: Thanks to the Midi OUT port, you can use this player to trigger another Midi-instrument (like a GM, GS or XG soundmodule).
