Hi, Does anyone out there have experience with recycle or millenium pro in combination with a s2000? I want one of them, but which one...? The specs of millenium pro look pretty good (www.rpgfan.demon.co.uk), stereo samples, link to a sound editor etc. i don't know if it generates midi files out of loops, so that's what i want to know...Does it work satisfying? buggs? Any comments on either program using with a s2000 will be greatly appriciated, thanks

martijn

oh, i forgot to mention that it's all really about cutting up loops, so mesa is not considered. And millenium pro is just currently released, so you didn't miss something...cheers...

Recycle is fine - a bit slow via midi and somtimes introduces pops
in the files it is transfering - not a major problem on things like
drums but bad on strings -

Check out a prog called akaidisk - this does same sort of thing
using floppy disk and samples transfer over 100% ok

Any more questions mail me - i've been using this stuff for quite a while and have encounterd most of the probs that arise

Thanks, i am using akaidisk for a while now, and it works pretty good for converting samples. But have you ever tried to extract a midi-file out of a drumloop? (which recycle does) It's a LOT of (hand) work. Any suggestions? I made a very simple calculation program on my graphic calculator, to transform sample position to midi starting point. Soundforge can create a txt file with all the sample starting points. So i print it and start creating a midi file by hand. And now i've not even mentioned setting up the sampler, keygroups on a s2000! Music making is a damn lot of work. From what i've heard Millenium Pro does it all, so i am curious to other people's experiences with this program.

Cheers Martijn
